School Bus Driver to the Rescue: Helps Tear-Filled Boy Participate in Pajama Day

Louisville, Kentucky – Known or going above and beyond in his community, Larry Farrish, Jr, School Bus Driver has now gone viral and has been touching the hearts of millions because of his impressive act of simple kindness.
A young boy named Levi was having a particularly rough morning, and Farrish Jr took immediate notice.
“Normally when I pull up, he’s standing there waiting for me with a big smile, but on this day, he was sitting on the ground with a jacket over his head. I asked him, ‘Hey buddy, what’s going on? What’s wrong?”, stated Farrish Jr.

Just then, first grade, Levi, tearfully explained that he didn’t own any pajamas for Pajama Day at Engelhard Elementary School. Young Little Levi slid into his seat and his away from his friends as Farrish Jr closed the school bus doors.
Knowing that Little Levi wanted to participate in Pajama Day but was unable to, filled Farrish Jr with empathetic sadness.
Farrish Jr proclaimed in his thoughts, “I gotta fix this.”
Farrish Jr. says knowing that Levi wanted to participate but couldn’t, filled him with sadness.
“I thought, ‘I gotta fix this,” Farrish Jr. says.
Once he completed his morning routes, Farrish Jr headed to a local Family Dollar store, buying two pairs of pajamas just for Little Levi. That’s when he headed straight back to Engelhard Elementary School to fix things for Levi.
“I said, ‘You were hurting this morning, you were crying, so I got you these pajamas,” Farrish Jr. remembers. “He was so excited — you should’ve seen how his face lit up.”
Levi immediately hugged the pajamas to his chest and hug them with pure excitement.
“I can tell Mr. Larry is nice and his heart is filled with joy,” Levi stated in a news release. “When he got me the pajamas, I did a happy cry.”
A formal truck driver and correctional officer, Farrish Jr believes he has found his calling on this earth.
“I’ve been driving buses for seven years. It’s my passion because I get to build bonds with the children,” he explains. “I truly love every minute of it.”
Once Jefferson County Public Schools publicly posted on their Facebook about what Farrish Jr. did to help Little Levi, a large amount of people began sharing their own personal stories about Mister Farrish Jr.
“Larry is the absolute best and kiddos know they are in great, caring, capable hands with him!!!”
Another person commented, “Mr. Larry is the absolute best. We were blessed with him as our bus driver for 4 years. Top notch human.”
